How To Fake It Until You Wake It

Tired? Oh, we get it. Good sleep is imperative to beautiful skin, and when we’ve had a restless night, it shows immediately. Puffy eyes, dark circles, dehydrated skin; the icing on the cake of already feeling run down. The best remedy is to roll back over in bed, but who really has time for that? Instead, we resolve to get back on track the next night and fake it in the interim. Here’s how to look like sleeping beauty, even when you're not feeling so hot.

1. Gua Sha

Depuff the face with a cooling Gua Sha session. Like a good morning stretch, Gua Sha is akin to yoga for your face. Even just five minutes in the morning will work wonders. Gliding the tool across the skin helps to clear stagnation and removes toxic buildup while boosting circulation for a more youthful glow. This is the awakening exercise your skin needs. Cleanse the skin, exfoliate if you have time, mist and apply All-Embracing-Serum before gliding Gua Sha from the center of your face outwards to the hairline. Help clear the lymphatic system by guiding the flow down the sides of your neck. Repeat 5x for each movement.

Pro tip: place your Gua Sha tool in the fridge overnight, the cool touch will help relieve the appearance of puffiness and dark circles.

2. Extra Eye Care

Roll on Ba+S Eye Contour Serum Concentrate with Cooling Rollerball to infuse the delicate eye area with extra love. This rollerball serum is packed with nutrients and designed to cool and massage the eye area with use. Tension is relieved, puffiness is reduced, and the serum helps plump up the look of fine lines. Lifesaver. So even if you’re not feeling well rested, the eye area will appear brighter and will look like you got the full 8 hours of sleep… Even if you didn't.

3. Exercise

Exercising gets the blood pumping and can bring a healthy flush to the face. This may not be your first idea after a rough night’s sleep, but even a brisk walk can help liven up the body and bring energy throughout the day. If falling asleep has been an issue, try a restorative yoga class after work.

4. Meditate

Meditation counterbalances the stress that fatigue places on the body and has been known to invoke the same restorative benefits of deep sleep. With meditation, the jaw will relax and the calming properties will improve circulation, reduce the appearance of fine lines and release stress. This will relax the tired face muscles and positively impact your immune and nervous system.

5. Load up on fruits and vegetables

Your diet is a strong precursor to a good night’s sleep. If you’re having problems sleeping, clean up what you’re eating. If you’re tired, clean up your eating. If you’re wanting skin that glows, clean up what you’re eating. Beauty truly is from within. Ensure that you’re nourishing your body with an abundance of fruits and vegetables. If sleeping is becoming a recurring problem, pick up some tart cherry juice (no added sugar) which has natural sources of melatonin, the sleep-inducing hormone that can help you sleep better at night.

To health and beauty, go get some rest. 😌
