Common Skin Busting Scenarios (Odacité Solution/Food Solution)
Stress, food overindulgence, and sun exposure are just some of the few major free-radical triggers that deplete your skin of its natural radiance, making your complexion look tired while accelerating the aging process. You are especially exposed to these triggers during the holidays, however with careful consumption – and using the appropriate ingredients on your skin – you can counteract any of these unwelcomed effects.
Today I am sharing with you the Odacite solution and the food solution to naturally combat some of the most common skin busting scenarios.
Lack of Sleep
Sleep is food for your brain, body, yes and your skin. When you don’t get enough of it you are depriving your skin of its repair function, leaving it dull and tired.
Pf+O Dull Skin Serum Concentrate - Here at Odacité, we like to call our Passion Fruit Orange Serum Concentrate “The Hangover Serum.” Aside from revitalizing and illuminating dull skin, this serum is great to use when you’ve had a bit too much to drink the night before, had a serious sugar binge or simply didn't get enough sleep! It is almost like giving your skin a shot of vitamins; a miraculous serum! When Passionfruit’s vitamin & mineral-rich oil is applied topically, you feed your skin with new energy, and no matter how tired you may be, it gets you some serious radiance. A perfect balance of Vitamins A & C and Passion Fruit’s rich mineral content combine to provide skin with near instant vitality and freshness, along with the added heart-lifting effects of the Sweet Orange oil fragrance.
Nuts are a great source of monosaturated fats and help balance your hormones and fight against energy deprivation. They make an excellent snack when feeling fatigued.
Stress is a common culprit to congested/oily or even dry skin. The skin works together with our elimination organs and digestive system, which regulate hormones and deliver messages to and from our nervous system. Along with using natural products, eating whole foods and finding ways to manage stress are all vital to glowing skin and good health.
Ca+C Sensitive Skin Serum Concentrate - Incredibly anti-inflammatory and gentle, Camelina oil pairs with Chamomile and Calendula, both of which possess tremendous skin-healing properties to calm and condition even the most sensitive & reactive skin. Camelina is also known to help treat eczema. In aromatherapy, chamomile is known for its ability to calm and relax the nervous system.
Green leafy vegetables like spinach contain folate, which produces dopamine, a pleasure-inducing brain chemical that helps keep you calm. Try drinking a green juice to increase a positive mood.
No one ever wants to turn down a day in the sun and in fact the sun can be good for the body at a certain extent. No matter how long you are out in the sun or how long ago it was, it is always possible to catch too many UV rays which results in the breakdown of collagen, photoaging and free radical damage.
C for Colette - Using a vitamin C serum regularly is the best way to repair your sun damaged skin. Our C for Colette is packed with antioxidants and superfoods. I make sure my Vitamin C comes in oil form because it’s fat-soluble like the skin barrier, which means it has a higher rate of penetration into the deeper layers of the skin where it can stimulate collagen production. I blended this advanced type of Vitamin C with Wheatgrass, Acai and Goji Berries to reinforce the fight against free radicals while boosting the production of collagen.
Sun Spots? Summer in Hossegor and Papaya+Geranium Hyperpigmentation serums are rich in antioxidants and vitamins that fade and reduce brown spots while precious oils hydrate and improve elasticity for an intensive age renewal experience.
Pomegranate seeds have polyphenols which protect your skin from UVA and UVB rays. They also may help your sunscreen work and inhibit hyperpigmentation.
When your period comes around, it brings gifts such as bloating, fatigue and our favorite - breakouts.
Bl+C Pimples Serum Concentrate - Use as a spot treatment on active blemishes. Black cumin cajeput-Great for acne prone skin. It is the bacteria fender thanks to black cumin and antiseptic cajeput. Known to fight bacteria and clear active blemishes!
Eating healing spices and herbs will help your body thrive during that time of that month. Try cinnamon, turmeric, cayenne, cumin, garlic, or ginger. With these nutrients, you will experience stable moods, consistent energy and glowing skin.
With the holidays approaching, a lot of you might spend a lot of time in planes, flying across the country to spend time with family and friends. Whenever the environment is moisture-free (as with recirculated air in a plane cabin) can cause your skin to dry out or breakout.
Deep Hydration Masque - This masque is like giving your skin 8 glasses of (alkaline, filtered) water. This luxuriously comforting formula contains hyaluronic acid, which plumps fine lines and wrinkles and holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, lavender to infuse anti-inflammatory benefits and organic olive and jojoba oils to restore elasticity.
Many clients including Valerie use it when they fly to overcome the dehydration due to air travel. Because hyaluronic acid is a naturally occurring substance found in skin, collagen and other areas of the body it is deeply absorbed with no risk of irritation or allergy. Hyaluronic acid attracts and binds water within the cells of the skin to bring instant hydration. Changes can be seen after 15 minutes of applying your masque.
Drink plenty of water during your traveling. It is the most efficient way to hydrate your skin and best way to protect yourself against getting sick.
Harsh products and chemicals usually cause sensitized skin. Along with a good (natural) skin care regime, cleaning out your diet and finding ways to lower stress will help your skin (I promise :) ) . With very sensitive skin, it is also very important to keep your skin regime at a minimum until your skin calms.
Ap+P Fragile Capillaries Serum Concentrate - This serum works wonders when used with Ca+C. Great for strengthening sensitive skin, this is one of my personal favorites. Deeply soothing serum particularly recommended for fragile capillaries and to help heal inflamed, irritated skin. Used for centuries in Chinese medicine to treat inflammatory skin disorders, Apricot oil contains numerous minerals and vitamins that contribute to improving microcirculation and strengthening capillary walls.
Hemp seeds contain gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid shown to reduce inflammation and could even help alleviate eczema. Try adding a tbsp into a smoothie or mixing some into a bowl or oatmeal.
For A Full Skin Detox
Every new season should start with a skin detox! Warmer seasons leave your skin with free radical damage and a layer of surface dullness, while the colder seasons leave your skin dry and itchy.
