DIY Skin Care

They are some ingredients in your kitchen that will make wonderful Skin care. Make sure you use organic ingredients otherwise you would undo many benefits by applying pesticides toxins to your skin. 

HONEY: Rich in minerals that nourish the skin and enzymes to slough off dead cells.
Hydrates and purifies.
Use it as a Masque: Apply a thin layer on clean skin and let work its natural miracle for 15 minutes.
Rinse with warm water.

OLIVE OIL: natural moisturizer, rich with anti-inflammatory agents. Also contain lipid squalene which is great for dry skin.
Use it on your Hair: Deep conditioning treatment for your hair, massage it in your hair and scalp and let it sit for 20 minutes before your shampoo. Or keep it overnight.

COCONUT OIL: Hair conditioner & Moisturizer.
Use it on your hair: will provide a protective layer to combat the damaging effects of sun, wind and cold weather. You can leave it in overnight or condition with a heat cap.

AVOCADO: Rich in omega 3 and antioxidants (specially Vitamin E)
Use it as a Masque: Mash one Avocado with a tablespoon of honey, apply to clean skin and leave on for 15 minutes. Rinse well with warm water

LEMON: Contains Alpha Hydroxy Acid, which act like a gentle defoliant for oily skin and restore Ph to dry skin.
Use it as a Toner: Juice the lemon add a little water and apply to clean skin with a cotton pad.

YOGURT: Contain Lactic acid that gently exfoliates the skin.
Use it as a masque. Mix with strawberries for added effect (strawberries contain AHA), apply to clean skin avoiding the eye area, let sit for 20-30 minute. Rinse well with warm water.

CHAMOMILLE: Soothing and calming herb to sun damaged, sensitive skin and rosacea.
Use it as a mist: Make a tea from organic Chamomile and filtered or purified water (avoid tap water which contains Chlorine). Let the tea cool, filter and put in a spray bottle. Keeps 2 days in refrigerator. Spray as needed to sooth the skin or make eye compresses. Use the left over as a rinse on your hair.

CUCUMBER: can reduce puffiness under the eyes, as well as help diminish dark circles. Cucumber also has a naturally astringent affect, which tightens pores.
Use it as a Masque: Clean the cucumber (keep the skin, it has stores vitamins), cut in ½ to remove the seeds. Use a food processor to grate. Apply and let it sit for 15 minutes.

EGG: For tighter pores and firmer, refreshed skin.
Use it as a Masque: beat a few egg whites until they get foamy. Then spread them over your face and let them dry. Wash off the egg white with cool water.
